Having a great product is wonderful but if no one buys where does that leave you? Discover 5 ways to improve your conversion rates to ensure that you get every sale you should!
1. Test, Track and Tweak
When you sell a product there are many factors that effect what is called your conversion rate. The conversion rate is the number of people that visit your site and actually buy from you.
Some of the things that effect your conversation rate include, your price, your sales copy, the source of your traffic, the ads that deliver your traffic and even the look and feel of your page.
But how can you know what works and what does not? It all comes down to tracking each tweak you make. This calls for software. Google Analytics is a good tool to use to help you track your customers. The best way to do your testing is through a process called split testing.
Split testing will allow you to have two versions of your sales page so you can change one element of your page and see how it effects conversions. If you use WordPress there is a plugin called Max A/B which allows you to easily perform split testing on your site.
Tracking and testing your sales copy using split testing is a powerful way to get more sales from your existing traffic. That means more money in your pocket.
2. Write Better Headlines
One of the biggest impacts on sales copy is the headline. As with almost everything in life there are certain elements of your sales process that will produce more results for your effort. Headlines are one of those areas. Creating a better headline can make a big change with little effort.
Three things you can do is inspire hope, raise curiosity and offer an easier way.
Here is an example of each of those components.
Example: Now you can increase your sales and put more money in your pocket!
Make them Curious
Example: Who else wants to discover the secrets of getting higher sales conversions?
An Easier Way
Example: Now you too can get more sales – quicker and easier than you ever thought possible!
And while putting just one element into your headline will be powerful if you can mix in two or all three of the elements your sure to improve your conversion rates which means more sales for you.
3. Remove The Risk
Almost everyone is skeptical to a degree and often people won’t buy because they just aren’t sure your product will really help them. As with almost every product on the market you can help eliminate this issue by providing a money back guarantee.
In most cases the stronger your guarantee and the longer you offer it the better. In most cases this will produce higher conversions and reduce your refund rate. It might seem odd but in many cases a longer refund period actually reduces refunds. That’s a good thing for you because it helps create a greater profit for you.
4. Give A Free Bonus
By offering a free bonus you are adding more value and creating a “no brainer” deal that the customer will find hard to turn down.
Example: Order your copy of “Copywriting Secrets Unveiled” and get your hands on my “7 Copywriting Secret Swipe Files” for free.
Tip: You can make this approach even more powerful by offering the bonus for only a limited time. For example you could make it available for the first 47 customers. After that the bonus goes away. You could offer two or three bonuses so that when your special bonus is removed there are still bonuses in place to help make your product offering a great deal for your potential customers.
This is a powerful way to increase your conversions with minimal effort.
5. Provide a call to action.
Every ad and sales letter you create should have a specific call to action, which is where you explicitly tell people what to do next.
This might seem too simple but you have to ask for the sale. It’s basic but necessary. You need to provide a call to action where you tell your potential customers what to do next.
Example: “Your next step is easy – take out your credit card and click here to discover how proven copywriting can blast your sales through the roof. Increase your sales by clicking here now!”
It’s a fact, if you don’t tell people what to do next they will likely hit the back button and never be back. Instead take a little extra time and tweak and test these five elements using split testing and tracking to improve your sales conversions. By improving your conversion rate you will get more out of your advertising efforts and raise the profitability of your site! Start implementing and testing these elements in your sales letter today.
